Main Event Many Voices series returns with new captivating authors sharing their stories and most recent work. This month's speaker Amanda Flower joins us to discuss "I Heard a Fly Buzz When I Died."
Amanda Flower
Local Author and former Akron-Summit County Public Library Employee Amanda Flower is a USA Today bestselling and Agatha Award-winning author of over forty-five mystery novels. Her novels have received starred reviews from Library Journal, Publishers Weekly, and Romantic Times, and she had been featured in USA Today, First for Women, and Woman’s World. Her first Emily Dickinson Mystery, "Because I Could Not Stop for Death," was a Agatha Award winner and Mary Higgins Clark Nominee. She currently writes for Penguin-Random House (Berkley), Kensington, and Sourcebooks. A former librarian, Flower and her husband own a farm and recording studio, and they live in Northeast Ohio with their eight adorable cats, Editors Cheeps and Tummy and Studio Cats Cheddar, Michelangelo, Dr. Z, Fender, Marmalade, and Colby Jack.

This is a free event. Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
If you wish to purchase a Main Event: Many Voices speaker's recently released title during their event, you will find The Friends of Main Library located in the Atrium before and after each event. Author book signing will follow each event located in the hallway beside the auditorium.

Main Library, located in the heart of downtown Akron, combines compelling public space with meaningful and relevant public library services for all members of our community. Since opening in 2004, the downtown library welcomes more than one million visitors each year.

Special services available at Main Library include: a Patent & Trademark Resource Center; U.S. Passport and Notary services; a Microbusiness Center; a Maker Space; a resource lab for early childhood educators; and regularly scheduled computer training classes. Also available at Main Library are more than 125 public access computers, color photocopiers/printers, laminating, scanning, faxing, and free Wi-Fi.
Specialized spaces include a 425-seat auditorium, public meeting rooms, and a used bookstore. An interior glass block walkway leads to a 600-space parking garage owned by the City of Akron. An outdoor amphitheater and landscaped park complete the complex.
