The Main Event: Many Voices series returns with four captivating speakers. Victoria Christopher Murray, NAACP and Library Journal award-winning author, kicks off this year's series.

Join us as Victoria Christopher Murray shares her newest title, "The First Ladies," co-authored with Marie Benedict.

Acclaimed author Victoria Christopher Murray has more than one million books in print. She has written more than twenty novels, including "Stand Your Ground," a NAACP Image Award Winner for Outstanding Fiction and a Library Journal Best Book of the Year.

In 2021, she teamed up with NYT Bestselling author Marie Benedict, to co-author "The Personal Librarian," the remarkable, little-known story of Belle da Costa Greene, J. P. Morgan’s personal librarian — who became one of the most powerful women in New York despite the dangerous secret she kept in order to make her dreams come true. In a new collaboration, Victoria Christopher Murray and Marie Benedict have co-authored their latest novel, "The First Ladies."

A native of Queens, Victoria earned a B.A. in Communication Disorders from Hampton University and an M.B.A. from New York University's Stern School of Business.

If you wish to purchase a Main Event: Many Voices speaker's recently released title during their event, you will find The Friends of Main Library located in the Atrium before and after each event. Author book signing will follow each event located in the hallway beside the

 auditorium.
