This program illustrates the connection between people, land usage, and the creatures that share our world. Learn how to help our natural world. Register online, by phone, or in person.

Judy Semroc presents a unique program illustrating the connection between people, land usage, and the creatures that share our world.

Learn how our actions impact the natural history around us – from the use of pesticides & herbicides to land development and gardening techniques – these practices are addressed and connections are made as to how our actions can harm the “faces of nature.” In addition, ideas are discussed outlining changes we can make to help our natural world.

Judy Semroc, Field Biologist & Naturalist, is the founder of Chrysalis in Time‚ the first Ohio chapter of the North American Butterfly Association (NABA). Judy also serves on the board of the Ohio Bluebird Society and the Ohio Ornithological Society (Conservation Committee).

She has co-authored two natural history guides, "Dragonflies & Damselflies of Northeast Ohio” in 2008, and "Goldenrods of Northeast Ohio: A Field Guide to Identification & Natural History" in 2017.

As a former petroleum geologist and science teacher, Judy loves to learn about and share her passion for the natural world through hikes, interpretive programs, and photography.

The Akron Summit County Public Library has materials on conservation, including Rescuing the Planet : Protecting Half the Land to Heal the Earth by Tony Hiss.

This program will be presented on Zoom.
