In commemoration of Native American History Month, join representatives from the Eastern Shoshone Cultural Center in Wyoming for a talk, virtual tour, and Native American dance demonstrations.
Celebrate Native American History Month in this interactive, virtual tour, talk, and dance demonstration. You will learn about Eastern Shoshone history and culture, and enjoy dance demos of hoop dancing and men's fancy dance.
This program is presented by members of the Eastern Shoshone tribe, and streamed from the Eastern Shoshone Cultural Center in Fort Washakie, Wyoming. Speakers include Ann Abeyta, Educator at the Fort Washakie School, Robyn Rofkar of the Cultural Center, and others. Dancers include George Abeyta (Men's Fancy) and Keeli King (Hoop). Topics will include Tribal History including Chief Washakie and Sacajawea, and cultural topics ranging from clothing and cradleboards to food and ceremonies. Come prepared with questions!
