Join Brandon Weis as he details his extraordinary Calendar Year Triple Crown hiking experience, which entailed carrying a backpack weighing over 20 pounds for more than 8,000 miles.
Have you ever thought about hiking across the country? How about doing it three times in one year?
Brandon Weis is one of the few people to complete the Calendar Year Triple Crown hike, which includes the Appalachian Trail, Pacific Crest Trail, Continental Divide Trail, and Arizona Trail. Over the course of a single year, he hiked from Georgia to Maine, from Mexico to Canada, from Canada to Mexico, and from Utah to Mexico. He endured the dead of winter at minus 20 degrees and summer temperatures reaching 111 degrees. Through frostbite, injury, sheer exhaustion, and more, he endured.
He is also the author or "This is Gonna Hurt: Thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail, Pacific Crest Trail, Continental Divide Trail and Arizona Trail in a Calendar Year."

Main Library, located in the heart of downtown Akron, combines compelling public space with meaningful and relevant public library services for all members of our community. Since opening in 2004, the downtown library welcomes more than one million visitors each year.

Special services available at Main Library include: a Patent & Trademark Resource Center; U.S. Passport and Notary services; a Microbusiness Center; a Maker Space; a resource lab for early childhood educators; and regularly scheduled computer training classes. Also available at Main Library are more than 125 public access computers, color photocopiers/printers, laminating, scanning, faxing, and free Wi-Fi.
Specialized spaces include a 425-seat auditorium, public meeting rooms, and a used bookstore. An interior glass block walkway leads to a 600-space parking garage owned by the City of Akron. An outdoor amphitheater and landscaped park complete the complex.
