Take the unique opportunity to bring your community together around the topic of housing insecurity before meeting the authors of “Just Action: How to Challenge Segregation Enacted Under the Color of Law” themselves on May 10 at Main Library.
“Just Action” is meant as “a blueprint for concerned citizens and community leaders” to address ongoing issues caused by segregation. Those issues were detailed in Richard Rothstein’s best-selling and award-winning “The Color of Law: A Forgotten History of How Our Government Segregated America” (2017).

Highland Square is one of Akron’s most iconic communities, hosting numerous street fairs and festivals, eclectic shopping and dining, and a vibrant night life. The full scope of community participation, however, is seen in local senior care facilities, local schools and preschools, and neighborhood festivals where Highland Square Branch Library staff plays an active role in creating experiences for participants of all ages.
